Sandboarding Cape Town Reviews: Is Atlantis Dunes Worth It?

The first slide changes how you see the dunes. You are no longer looking at the white slopes; you are riding one. This 90-minute guided session gives you a board and help getting started, with time to return to the top and try again. The climb back up is part of the day, so come ready to move.

01

What stays with travellers

Travellers praise the fine white sand and the instructor's patient help. One described the dunes as a “fantastic area of fine white sand dunes.” The experience had a 4.2 out of 5 rating from 60 GetYourGuide reviews when this page was prepared.

02

The climb is part of the day

Whether you stand or sit, you will walk back up through loose sand after a run. Some travellers found the climb tiring or wanted more time riding. Go expecting an active outing with breaks for the view, rather than a continuous series of downhill runs. The session is shared with other participants.

The R96 reserve permit per person is separate from your ticket. For the full total and arrival details, see the price guide and Atlantis guide.

03

Is it your kind of outing?

If you want to trade a city morning for white dunes, open air and the fun of trying something new, this is an inviting way to do it. An instructor helps beginners, and the seated bumboard offers another way to enjoy the slope. The experience is unsuitable for wheelchair users or people with back problems.

Take a closer look at the setting in the Atlantis Dunes guide.
